A forestry management meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the University of Arkansas at Monticello H.H. Chamberlin Forestry Resources Complex.


Meeting sponsors are the Arkansas Forestry Commission, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Small Farm Program, the UAM School of Forestry, and U.S. Department of Agriculture agencies.


Although open to all landowners, the session is aimed primarily at forestry landowners in Ashley, Chicot, Drew and Desha counties, according to a news release.


The event includes a field tour of UAM forestry research projects. Topics will include technical and financial assistance, the tree farm program, forestry management plans and the economics of forestry management.
