The fall Great Arkansas Clean-Up Recycling and Shredding Event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.

This event is free to the public and will be held at the Jefferson County Recycling Center, 1800 E. Harding Ave., behind Pope’s Furniture.

The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Clean and Beautiful Commission, Jefferson County Recycling Center, and Jefferson County Judge Henry “Hank” Wilkins IV are hosting the event in its fifth year.

The center will accept all different types of materials including electronics, cardboard and newspaper. Rock Solid Shredding of Little Rock will have a truck on site for document shredding. There is a limit for document shredding of 10 boxes per person.

To use the shredder, residents must make sure that shredding items only consist of paper and no metal objects or plastic materials, including binders and folders. These items must be separated before coming to have them shredded.

There will also be a medication take-back section so that old prescription medications can be disposed of properly.

Details: Executive Director Kelli Kennedy of the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Clean & Beautiful Commission, 870-543-4901, or Jefferson County Judge Hank Wilkins’ office, 870-541-5360.
