The application deadline has been extended for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Homecoming Parade.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, on Main Street in Pine Bluff. The deadline to return completed applications is Thursday, Oct. 5, according to chairwoman Florence. Caine.

Parade applications can be downloaded at or picked up and returned to the UAPB Police Office, the Welcome Center or Corbin Hall, room 148.

The parade theme is “Let the Good Times Roar.” Participants, other than bands, are asked to create a float that follows the theme. Trophies will be awarded this year to the group with the best float.

Only incumbent national, state, county and city elected officials may participate in the parade. Campaign materials may not be displayed on the official’s vehicle. Also, identification of elected officials will be limited to name and office held.

A non-refundable application fee will be required for non-university sponsored organizations. The fees are as follows: cars– $50/each; motorcycles – $50/each; trucks/SUVs – $75/each, semi-trailer trucks (18 wheelers) – $100. Decorated floats and current elected officials are excluded.

Fees may be paid in Corbin Hall, room 148. All fees and applications must be turned in on or before Oct. 5 between 9 a.m. and noon and 1:30-4 p.m. Cashiers’ checks or money orders may be payable to The UAPB Homecoming Committee (no personal checks or cash will be accepted).
