Charles Anthony Gray, 87, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, October 9, 2017.

He was born January 1, 1930 in Pine Bluff, son of James William and Vergie Mae Pierce Gray.

Mr. Gray was reared and received his early education in Watson Chapel. He served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was a proud firefighter who served 5 years in the Pine Bluff Fire Department before moving to Dallas, Texas. He served 25 years in the Dallas Fire Department, retiring in 1980 as a captain and head of the training division.

Mr. Gray was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward Gray.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lee Pierce Gray, whom he married October 18, 1948; two sons, Gary Gray of Pine Bluff and Paul Gray of Greenwood; brother, Horace Gray of Hot Springs; two sisters, Louise Anderson of Pine Bluff and Juanita McDonald of Pine Bluff; grandchildren, Kevin Gray, Steven Gray, Ryan Gray, Jared Gray and Andrew Gray; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Gray, Emma Gray, Nora Gray and Anna Gray.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Ramick Cemetery by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Watson Chapel Baptist Church.

Michael Ratterree

STAR CITY - Michael Anthony “Jethro” Ratterree, 54 of Star City, passed away with his loving family beside him Tuesday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born July 11, 1963 in Dumas to the late Billy Charles Ratterree and Patricia Johnson Quickel. He loved his family and deer hunting. He was a truck driver and at an early age he loved being behind the wheel of a Peterbilt.

Survivors include his son, Jason (Kayla) Ratterree of Hermitage; daughter, Anna Marie (Randy) Allgor of Texarkana, Texas; sister, Kathy (Tracy) Scott of Star City; 5 grandchildren, Colt Ratterree, Samuel Ratterree, Weston Peterson, Cade Allgor and Kailey Coody; and a host of nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 -8 PM at Griffin Funeral Service. Graveside services are 2 PM Thursday at Butler/Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Bro. Don Borland and Bro. Mrs. Carrie Manning, 86, of Pine Bluff, Ark.passed Saturday, October 7th, 2017. Service arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Ark.

Becky Elliott

WHITE HALL - Becky Jane Fowler Elliott, 70, of White Hall, died Thursday, October 5, 2017.

She was born November 9, 1946 in Pine Bluff, daughter of Dora Fowler VonTungeln.

Becky was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1964.

While she was a hairdresser for several years, she spent the majority of her time raising and caring for her family. She also enjoyed fishing, cooking and antiquing. Becky was no stranger to garage sales, enjoying finding the hidden gems wherever she could. She also enjoyed helping the American Legion and loved her dogs and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-brother, Dale VonTungeln.

Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Roy Elliott, whom she married July 10, 1970 in Pine Bluff; son, Brian Elliott of White Hall; daughter, Heather Elliott Shaik and her husband Wajid Shaik of Katy, Texas; half-brother, Ralph Curtis of Tucson, Ariz.; half-sister, Susan VonTungeln of Pine Bluff; and two grandchildren, Micah and Michael Shaik of Katy, Texas.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Dean Dancer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 - 7 p.m. at Robinson’s.
