Superintendent Joe Louis Stocker, 76, of Pine Bluff, passed on Monday, October 30, 2017. He was born April 9, 1941 to Mr. Ferda and Mrs. Willie Rucks Stocker, in the Kedron community, Rison, Ark. He received his early education at Rowland Elementary and Lanwood Junior and Senior High Schools. On June 6, 1970, he was appointed pastor of Main Street Church of God in Christ by Bishop L.T. Walker where he remained a faithful and dedicated leader for more than forty-seven years. He also served as 2nd Administrative Assistant to Arkansas Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Jewel R. Withers, Jr., and as the District Superintendent for Pine Bluff #1.

Services will be held on Friday, November 3rd with visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. at Main Street Church of God in Christ with a celebratory service following and; on Saturday, November 4th at First Trinity Church of God in Christ with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time at 11:00 a.m.

His survivors include his wife, Ingrid McNair Stocker; three daughters, Priscillia Smith (Webster, Texas) Teresa Griffin (Southaven, Miss.) and Sylvia Grissom (Charlotte, N.C.) an adopted son, Elder Dennis Johnson (Pine Bluff); four brothers; one sister; and three grandchildren.

Thomas Jenkins, Sr.

DUMAS - Mr. Thomas Elbert Jenkins, Sr. 73 of Dumas, passed Monday, October 30, 2017 at McClellan V.A. Hospital in Little Rock.

Born October 31, 1943 in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Marshall and Mary Elizabeth Jenkins.

He was a member of New King Solomon M.B.C. in Dumas, a trucker for Dumas Motors and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Jenkins of Dumas, two sons, Thomas Elbert Jenkins, Jr., Tyron Vance both of Sterling, Va., one brother, Walter Jenkins of Washington, D.C., two sisters, Alice Jenkins of Washington, D.C., Meneda Pannell of Temple Hills, Maryland.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at New King Solomon Baptist Church in Dumas with Arthur Bealer officiating. Burial will be in Forrest lawn Cemetery in Pine Bluff by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas.

Visitation will be Sunday at the Funeral Home from 2 - 4 p.m.

The body will lie in state at the church Saturday from 9:15 a.m. until time of services.

Isabel Cooper

NAGS HEAD, N.C. - Isabel Ursery Cooper of Nags Head, N.C. left us on November 2, 2017.

She was born in Pine Bluff, Ark. on April 21, 1935 to her parents, William Stanley and Mary Charles Lee Ursery. She is survived by her husband, John (Jack) Du eld Cooper Jr. and three sons, William Elvin Dismore III of Richmond Va., Lee Markland Dismore of Bella Vista Ark., and John Du eld Cooper, III of Buford, GA and their spouses.

She watched over six grandchildren; Brian Dismore, Melissa Robillard, Lauren Treptow, Mitchell Dismore, Nicole Whitehead and Makensie Cooper and five great grandchildren; Ashley Dismore, Nicholas Dismore, Isabel Treptow, Peyton Treptow and River Lee Dismore.

Isabel is survived by her siblings, Nancye Lee McNew, Susan Camp and Frederick Stanley Ursery.

“I have lived a good and interesting life. I have loved and been loved. I am blessed.”

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at St. Andrews By-The-Sea in Nags Head, NC followed by the scattering of her ashes in the Memorial Garden on Saturday November 11, 2017 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Andrews By-The-Sea Episcopal Church (PO Box 445, Nags Head NC 27959) are welcomed.

Henry Cooper

BUCKVILLE - Henry Joe Cooper, 87, of Buckville, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017.

He was born December 2, 1929 to the late Henry Harrison & Lillie Belle McDaniel in Carden Bottoms (Yell County, Ark.). In 1944, his family moved to Sherrill, Ark. to pursue farming. He was reared and received his early education in Carden Bottoms and Wabbaseka.

Mr. Cooper was a fireman for the Pine Bluff Fire Department with the rank of Lieutenant. He was a Mason and a Baptist by faith. Joe loved deer hunting, fishing, and spending time on time on Lake Ouachita.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters, and beloved niece Marsha Lynn Reed.

Left to cherish his memory, wife of 64 years, Margie Sue Robinson; whom he married October 30, 1953 in Sherrill; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Gary Cooper officiating. Mr. Cooper will be in state Sunday afternoon from 2 - 4 p.m. at Robinson’s.

Pallbearers will be Gary Cooper, Jerry Coffey, Michael Reed, Clint Jackson, Dale Reed and Donnie Robinson.

E. Ray Clinton

WHITE HALL - Elvia Ray Clinton, 71 of White Hall, passed away, Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Born April 1, 1946 at Atkins, he was a son of the late Edward and Ola Mae Thompson Clinton.

Ray graduated as Valedictorian from Altheimer High School in 1965.

He then started his 50-year career with Simmons Bank.

He married Judy Rannenberg on August 23rd, 1968 which gave them 49 years of marriage. They have one daughter, Rachel Lynn Clinton (Keith Gray).

Ray was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served willingly in several capacities.

He was a people person. Ray was quick to show you friendship and kindness and was glad to show his trust and love for the Lord. He always had a song in his heart that he often shared with a smile on his face.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by siblings, Mildred Smith, Margie Taylor, Linda Knight, Bill Clinton and four infant siblings, Archie, Andrew, Jessie and Ronnie.

Other survivors include three sisters, Virginia Crawford, Shirley Drummond and Peggy Drummond (Oubrey); twin brother, Melvin Clinton (Patti) and brother, Lewis Clinton (Marilyn); and many other loving family and friends.

Funeral Services will be Monday, November 6th, 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Stewart Marshall officiating.

Private Interment in Hardin Cemetery.
