MONTICELLO — Fiddler on the Roof, winner of nine Tony Awards and one of Broadway’s longest running musicals, will be presented at the University of Arkansas at Monticello at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17-18.

The production will be held in the UAM Fine Arts Center, presented by the UAM Music Theatre Workshop and the Southeast Arkansas Concert Association.

“The musical, based on the tales of Sholem Aleichem including Tevye and His Daughters, is set in Russia around 1905 and centers around Tevye’s attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions in a rapidly changing world,” according to a news release. “Tevye must cope with his three eldest and willful daughters who wish to break with tradition to marry the men they love, even if that takes them away from their village and the faith.”

The cast includes Kent Skinner, Rebecca Lush, Anna Lewis, Hailey Connor, Stormy Donham, Alexander McBay, Jonathan Cruz, Clay Young, Danyelle Baker, Mark Sullivan, Luke Lane, Andrey Wright, Madison Phillips and Craig Grantham.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12. UAM students will be admitted free with ID. For tickets, call 870-460-1888 or purchase online at http://www.searkconcert.org/.
