A 28-year-old man was found dead inside a vehicle Wednesday morning, according to Pine Bluff police. About 1:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 29th Avenue and Hazel Street in reference to a passenger car stopped in the roadway. The caller said they believed the occupant may have been shot.

Police reported finding a male, later identified as Willie Lee Oglesby Jr., inside a Dodge Charger in the 1700 block of West 29th Avenue.

Oglesby was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher at 1:57 a.m. The cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley said the body will be sent to the State Crime Laboratory later Wednesday for an autopsy.

According to a press release from Officer Richard Wenger, police are in the early stages of the investigation and further information will be provided as it becomes available.
