Diane Brown Ayres, 86, of Pine Bluff, Ark. died Monday, November 13, 2017. Born in Memphis, Tenn., September 26, 1931 to the late William Thomas and Louise Cartwright Brown, she grew up in Greenville, Miss. graduating from Greenville High School in 1943. She attended Ward Belmont Jr. College and graduated from Millsaps College in 1953. She was an active member of Chi Omega sorority. Diane married the love of her life, the late W.E. Ayres June 10, 1953 in Greenville, Miss. and moved to Pine Bluff in 1954 where they resided ever since.

Diane was passionate about her family, friends, church, and Pine Bluff. As a lifelong Methodist, she and W.E. loved Lakeside UMC. Together they taught Sunday School and participated in leadership and volunteer positions. As a team, they were committed to Pine Bluff through numerous committees and boards of community organizations. One of her greatest pleasures in serving was being a part of creating and supporting the Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra. Other organizations she advocated were SEARK and Trinity Village. Mrs. Ayres was also a member of several study clubs including Hawthorne Book Club, Sesame Club, and Jr. Sesame Club. As passionate as she was about church and community, her family and friends were always her priority.

Other loves of Mrs. Ayres included sewing, trout fishing at Calico Rock with family and friends, and traveling with W.E.. Her sewing in earlier years included tailored suits, coats, and nearly everything she wore. When grandchildren arrived, she learned French hand-sewing. More recently, her creative interests moved toward working on her computer organizing, recording, and saving family records and pictures, as well as creating extensive albums for all her family. Mrs. Ayres’ artistic abilities were apparent in her personalized greeting cards for family and friends.

Her survivors include her daughter, Cathy Zimmerman of Boulder, Colo.; son, Tim (Leigh Ann) Ayres of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Emma Zimmerman and Gus Zimmerman of Boulder, Colo. and Ashlyn Ayres Ellington (David), Wesley Ayres, and Cartwright Ayres of Atlanta, Ga.

Services are 1:30 pm, Monday November 20, 2017 at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Reverend Steven Wingo officiating. Burial will be private.

MCGEHEE - Mrs. Barbara Jean Williams-Webb, 83 of McGehee, Ark. passed Thursday, November 9, 2017.

Born February 23, 1934 in Pickens, Ark., she was a daughter of the late York Williams, Sr. and Lillie Rucker-Williams. A member of St. Peter's Rock, M.B.C. a Retired Teacher for Dumas School District, Sunday School Teacher, Past President/Teacher of the Mission, Director of Young People Department, Christian Education, Teacher in the Congress of Christian Education, President of Southeast Women's Auxiliary, Certified Dean both State and District Level for Congress of Christian Education, Delta Women United for Progress inn Dumas, Chairperson of Desha County T.E.A. Coalition, President of McGehee Extension Club, Hospital Auxiliary, Desha County, Desha County Equalization Board, Founder of U.A.P.B./AM&N Southeast Alumni Chapter, Arkansas Retired Teachers Association, National Retired Teachers Association, Desha County Retired Teachers, Member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, other awards include Service Award Sigma Gamma Rho, Women Of The Year St. Peter's Rock M.B.C., Morris booker Memorial College, Dumas Chamber of Commerce, Zeta Phi Beta Service To Education a member of Royal Grand Chapter Order Of Eastern Star.

Survivors include two brothers, Alfred Williams, Sr. of Pittsburgh, Calif., Alford Williams, Sr. of Parkin, Ark., 4 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at St. Peter's Rock M.B.C. in Dumas with Rev. Larry Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock by Brown Funeral home of Dumas.

Visitation will be Friday at St. Peter's Rock M.B.C. from 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Carl Kidd Sr.

Mr. Carl Kidd Sr., 70 of Pine Bluff, Ark. passed November 10, 2017.Born May 12, 1947 in Sherrill, Ark., he was the son of the late Elnora and Wesley Kidd, Sr.

He graduated from Townsend Park High School. He attended UAPB, formerly AM&N. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Carl retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad after 20 years of service.

Carl was a great husband, father, friend and member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Kidd, Jr., and four sisters; Blanch Murry, Mary Patterson, Elsie Kidd Billings and Marvelous Cann.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Brenita Faye Williams-Kidd; brother, Cleoritus Kidd, son, Carl (Tiffany) Kidd, Jr.; step children, Simone Vaughn, Tammie (Carlton) May, Allison Williams, and Rickey Clements, Jr.

Mr. Willie "Chill" Lee Oglesby Jr., 28 of Pine Bluff, Ark. died Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was born August 17, 1989 in Pine Bluff, son of Aleta L. Fletcher and Willie Lee Oglesby, Sr.

Erma Williams

Mrs. Erma Jean Williams 76, of Pine Bluff passed November 14, 2017. She was born in Buena Vista, Ark. on March 2, 1941 to the late Victor and Helen McDonald.

She graduated from Merrill High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from AM&N (UAPB). She was an educator and taught in the public schools of Marvell, Warren and Altheimer, Ark. where she spent 32 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; John McDonald and Gwaine McDonald.

Survivors include a son Sedrick Cline (Sharon) of Bartlett, Tenn., daughters; TaJuana Johnson of Fayetteville, Ga., Lavatia “Becky” Wooten (Ernest) of Pine Bluff and LaTishia Michelle Williams of Elizabethtown, Ky., eight grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren, one sister, Earnestine Suggs (David) and a number of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, 5:30 - 7 pm at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

Princella Alford Mosley was born August 17, 1928 in Grady, Ark. to the late Nazie Alford and Luella O'Neal Alford. She departed this life on November 13, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curley Mosley, Sr.; and her sons, Charles, Johnny Lee, William, and Kenneth Mosley.

She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Freddie L. Alford, Robert L. Alford, and Curley Mosley, Jr.; twenty-six grandchildren, fifty-one great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Otis Dan "June" Owney Jr. was born on June 16, 1950 in Moscow, Ark. to the late O.D. Owney, Sr and Addie Shavers Randall. He departed this life on November 7, 2017.

Deloris Burnley McLemore, 70, of North Little Rock, Ark., died November 7, 2017. She was born February 17, 1947 in Tucker, Ark. the daughter of the late Ira and Georgia Lee Burnley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McLemore; daughter, Donna McLemore and brothers, Ira Burnley, Jr. and John Burnley.
