LITTLE ROCK - Deloris H. Iverson of Little Rock, Ark. a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, educator and cherished friend to many, transitioned into eternity November 13, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.
She was preceded by her parents, Berry and Everlenia Iverson; two brothers, Rufus and Cornelius Iverson; two sisters, Magalene and Elnatha Wilkins.
She began her career with the Little Rock School District and during the next 40 years of her career as an educator, Deloris worked in many capacities to assist classroom teachers in closing the achievement gap.
Her loving survivors include: children, Ricky (Tonjuna) Iverson, Zebralon Dukes, Cedrick Blue and Terra Dukes all of Little Rock, Ark.; siblings, Iona Christopher, Bessie Iverson and Evelyn Iverson all of Pastoria, Ark., Pauline (Jesse) Anderson, of Little Rock, Ark., Willie (Norma) Iverson of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Versie Cogshell of Little Rock, Ark.; sister in law, Pearl Iverson of Pine Bluff, Ark.; special lifelong friends, Dorothy Jackson of Pine Bluff, Ark., Nona Scoggins and Charlotte Washington both of Little Rock, Ark., and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017, 11am, at St. Mark Church, 5722 West 12th St. Little Rock, Ark. Interment will follow at Elmlawn Cemetery. Laura Valentine, of Pine Bluff, passed away the ninth day of November, 2017 at the age of 53.
She was born February 10, 1964, daughter of the late Bill & Lou Valentine.
She was a graduate of Pine Bluff High.
She had two amazing achievements during her time here. They are her girls, Kristina & Jennie. All of the good in Laura was put into them. She raised them to be strong, independent women and loved them fiercely.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, JoAnn.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kristina Powers & Jennie Powers, her mother, a sister, Debbie Williams, and a host of nieces and nephews..
Leon Jones, 66, of Pine Bluff, passed November 10, 2017. Born November 25, 1950 in Pine Bluff to the late Jasper and Naomi Coleman Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Jones of Pine Bluff; Sons: Christopher Jones and Kendrick Hinton of Pine Bluff and Maurice Hinton of Detroit; daughters: Denise Kirk of San Antonio, Texas and Dominique Hinton of Pine Bluff; brothers Louis Jones of North Little Rock, Leodis Jones of Chicago, Rufus Jones of Indianola, Miss., Earnest Jones of Pine Bluff, Leo Jones of Sherwood and Johnny Jones of Memphis; sister, Minnie B. Rayford of Pine Bluff, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Hope Apostolic Faith Ministries by Elder Julius Wright. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Henson- Holcomb Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until funeral time at the church.
HOT SPRINGS - Allen Loyd Wayman, 94, of Hot Springs, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
He was born July 13, 1923 in Dumas, son of William and Bertha Frank Wayman.
Along with his parents, Mr. Wayman was preceded in death by his wife, Genevie “Genie” Gray Wayman, whom he married March 14, 1948 in Pine Bluff; two brothers, Albert “Butch” Wayman and Roy Wayman; and sister, Rosemary Brockman.
Survivors include his son, Michael Wayman (Donna) of Hot Springs; brother, Jerry Wayman (Kay) of Holiday Island; two granddaughters, Kim Jones (Cody) and Kellie Wayman; great-grandchildren, Kelby, Karter and Karsyn; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Wayman was reared and received his early education in Star City, graduating from Star City High School in 1941. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
After his military service, Mr. Wayman moved to Pine Bluff in 1945. He worked for Martin Machinery for many years and later retired from Florida Drum as a maintenance supervisor in 1992.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at Lee Cemetery with Dr. David Moore officiating.

Oliver Kelley, Sr.
SHERRILL - Oliver Ray Kelley, Sr., 77, of Sherrill, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
He was born February 2, 1940 in Pine Bluff, son of George Edward Kelley and Mary Louise Wooten Kelley.
Oliver was reared and received his early education in the Dollarway schools.
He served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
After his military service, Oliver worked many jobs, mostly as a hay farmer and truck driver.
He enjoyed watching westerns, spending time with his family and playing with his dog.
Oliver was preceded in death by his wife, Retha May Lovette Kelley; his parents; and two sisters, Linda Wiley and Edna Doolin.
Survivors include three sons, John Edward Kelley (Sandra) and Oliver Kelley, Jr., (Meghan) both of Sherrill and Kevin Kelley of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Shirley Herring of White Hall and Bessie Rogers of Pine Bluff; and two grandchildren, Hannah Kelley and Katherine Kelley.
Funeral services will be private at a later date.
