Dr. James Montgomery, chief radiology resident physician at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will speak to Ivy Center for Education. The event will be held from 6-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 913 University Drive.


A native of Pine Bluff, Montgomery is a 2004 graduate of Pine Bluff High School. He holds a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Jackson State University.


At Jackson State, Montgomery became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and served as a saxophonist and head drum major in the band.


He has also conducted research at the National Center for Toxicological Research, UAMS, and Drexel University, where his work was presented and published. He is married and has a daughter.


“The community is invited to come out to hear about Dr. Montgomery’s heart-warming journey to becoming a medical doctor,” a spokeswoman said in a news release.
