Eboni Edwards of Pine Bluff is performing in “Madagascar - A Musical Adventure,” and recently participated in a climate change reading at Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia.
Edwards, a sophomore performing arts theatre major, plays King Julien in “Madagascar” at SAU’s Harton Theatre. The final performance will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. The production began Nov. 16, according to a news release.
The family-friendly production of “Madagascar” is based on the popular Dreamworks animated motion picture. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for SAU faculty, staff, and students, and $5 for youth 12 and under. Online reservations are available at www.showtix4u.com. Also, Edwards joined the SAU Theatre for a reading as part of the global Climate Change Theatre Action event. Edwards was a student director as well as volunteer actor for the event held Nov. 4.
The climate change event was a part of the worldwide series of readings and performances of short climate change plays presented biennially in support of the United Nations Conference of the Parties, according to a news release.
