Charles E. Hart, 75 of Pine Bluff,passed away, Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Born May 25, 1942 at Collins, Ark., he was a son of the late Glynn Hart and Frances West Hart.

A 1960 graduate of White Hall High School, Mr. Hart retired from BBF Oil in 2007 after several years of service.

A great husband, father and provider, he was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church before moving his letter to Watson Chapel Baptist Church where he also served as Deacon and was a part of Awana’s.

He enjoyed the outdoors, whether hunting & fishing, playing golf, coaching youth sports or his favorite, watching his grandsons play.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and G.W. Hart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sherry Ann Grumbles Hart; children, Frankie Hart (Susan) and Audra “Sissy” Jones (Tommy); brother, Travis Hart; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Hart; special cousin, Billy West; grandsons, Matt Hart, Jeremey Lackey and Tanner Jones; great-grandsons, Landon Lackey & Chase Lackey; and many other loving family and friends.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 21st, 1:30 p.m. at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Brother Todd Howard officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.

Waylon Conner

STAR CITY - Waylon Conner, 74 of Star City died Sunday at his home. He was born December 25, 1942 in Wilmar to the late Sammie A. and Helen Saffold Conner. He was a member of the Lincoln County Cattleman’s Association and was a telephone service technician for many years.

Survivors include a son, Paul Waylon (Donna) Conner of Star City; daughter, Rebecca Ann (Richard) Rauls of White Hall; 2 sisters, Lela (Sid) Conner Owen of Star City and Peggy Conner Armstrong of Anderson, S.C.; 3 grandchildren, Skye Rauls, Ty Waylon Conner and Kaylon (Gary) Brigham; and 3 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kaidyn and Sophia.

Graveside services are 10 AM Wednesday at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Star City with Bro. Tom Abney officiating. Visitation is 6 - 8 PM Tuesday at Griffin Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

L.O. Shugart

L. O. Shugart, age 78, of Pine Bluff, formerly of Arkadelphia, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at his home in Pine Bluff. He was born January 5, 1939, to the late Lilburn Offutt and Mary Lou Whaley Shugart. He was a retired retail manager and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Kyle Barber and Spencer Wessels; one great-grandson, Jonathan McCollum.

Survivors are three daughters, Mary Shugart Murdock, Betty Ray and Joann Wessels all of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Wednesday, November 22nd at Rose Hill Cemetery with Bro. James Calhoun officiating. No visitation is planned. Sign the online book at
