The Watson Chapel Lady Wildcats won on the road 49-30 on Tuesday against the Searcy Lions.
After a close first quarter, the Lady Wildcats led 11-7. Jerica Bell and Akalah Burns combined for 14 points in the second quarter to cap off a 16-3 run to end the first half.
With Watson Chapel leading 30-14 at halftime, Bell came out in the third quarter picking where she left off.
Jhakiyah Boston and Bell scored 10 of the team’s 13 third quarter points to help put away the Lions.
Bell led all scorers with 12 points, while Boston and Burns added 11 and 9 points respectively.
The Lady Wildcats will host Pulaski Academy at 6 p.m. Nov. 28.
The Waston Chapel Wildcats fell short to the Searcy Lions 70-60 on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats stormed out to 10-1 to start the game, highlighted by back-to-back three pointers made by Kavon Mitchell and Chandler Tate. Willie Vaughn also had a hard dunk in the run.
However, Searcy ended the quarter on a 12-4 run to keep in touch with Watson Chapel at the end of the first quarter 13-14.
Watson Chapel went up by 8 points to start the second quarter. Vaughn and Kaleb Hill scored the 8 points for the Wildcats.
Vaughn then went down with an ankle injury, causing the Wildcats to lose some height on the court.
The Wildcats took a 31-28 lead at halftime, but Searcy started the second half on a 11-2 run and led the rest of the third quarter to take a 44-38 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Berkarion Black and Jordan Tillmon combined for 12 points to spark a failed comeback for the Wildcats.
Mitchell led the way for Watson Chapel with 13 points. Tillmon had 11 points followed by Tate with 8 points.
The Wildcats will travel to J.A. Fair to play at 6 p.m. Nov. 28.
