Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff will host the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, a Jenkins Choir performance and refreshments.

The event will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in JRMC’s front lobby and the community is invited to attend.

The tree lighting is a fundraiser for the JRMC Auxiliary, whose members volunteer and accomplish special projects within the hospital.

The auxiliary is selling lights that can be bought in honor or memory of someone special. Designating a light on the tree costs $3, and a note of acknowledgment will be sent to the person selected. Proceeds will help the auxiliary continue to support JRMC. To buy a light, call Debbie Tole at 870-541-7269.

Last year, Jenkins Choir sang Christmas songs such as “We Wish You a Merry Christmas;” “Mary Did You Know;” “Blue Christmas;” and “Silver Bells.” The choir sings all over Pine Bluff and has performed at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion and for the Salvation Army fundraiser for many years.

“JRMC looks forward to seeing South Arkansas community members at this brief but meaningful ceremony,” according to a news release.
