Anniversaries


Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 W. 26th Ave., will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. George Waters Jr. and Pamela S. Waters, Sunday, Dec. 10. At 10:45 a.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Raeshawn Howard, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church at Dermott. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. LeArthur Shelton, pastor of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.


Nu Bread of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 W. 13th Ave., will present its church annual at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.


Concerts/musicals


Union Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will host the appreciation service of the Webb Sisters celebrating 45 years of singing gospel music at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The sermon will be by the Rev. Rayford Barnes of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Guests will include the New Salem Choir, Clancey White, the Rev. Travis Jackson and the Spiritual Sonz of Fordyce.


Richardson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church near Tamo will present its choir anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Edward Demery, pastor of Almeta Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas.


Barnes Temple Church of God in Christ, 10301 Princeton Pike, will sponsor a Christmas musical at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. A combined choir will be directed by Kimberly Cole-Bentley.


Greater Deliverance Global Ministry, 2215 E. Harding Ave., will host a music praise and worship service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Guests will include Soldiers 4 Christ, Spiritualettes, Men In Christ, Mighty Gospelettes, Heavenly Hearts, True Vessels, Nu Image, Singing Rev’s and Hayes Singers.


Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will present its annual winter musical featuring Men In Black and the Voices of Deliverance at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.


Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 706 S. Cypress St., will host a musical worship at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Guests will include Nu Emage of Pine Bluff.


Cherry Street AME Zion Church, 800 S. Cherry St., will host the Pine Bluff Women’s Community Choir rehearsals for its Songs of Praise 64 Concert at 7 p.m. Fridays, Dec. 15, 22 and 29. The concert will be held Dec. 31. All current and former choir members, interested new members and musicians are urged to attend.


Men’s and women’s programs


New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will observe its men’s and women’s day at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The speaker will be Aquarius Fletcher, a member of New Community.


Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 W. Eighth Ave., will observe its annual women’s day at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Margarette Williams of New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.


First Baptist Church at Rison invites all women to its Sister to Sister fellowship at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.


Revivals


Faith Family and Friends Church at North Little Rock will include locals in the end-of-the-year revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 13-15. Thursday, the speaker will be the Rev. Perry Hayes of Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church at Jefferson. Friday, the speaker will be Sandrel Johnson, a prophetess of Pine Bluff.


Abundant Life Ministries, 3109 S. Main St., will present the “Gathering of the Eagles” revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 13-15. The event will feature host pastor, Louise Lyas, and guest Cynthia Simpson, pastor of Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ at Crossett.


Main Street Church of God in Christ, 2901 S. Main St., will host a pre-Christmas revival at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 13-15, with featured pastor Aaron Withers of Tabernacle of Faith Church of God in Christ as the revivalist. Lecturers at 6:45 p.m. will be Pine Bluff Police Chief Ivan Whitfield on Wednesday discussing crime awareness; Mark Goodlow on Thursday discussing financial stewardship; and Melissa Henry-Mack on Friday addressing mental health.


New Beginnings Baptist Church, 8826 Old Warren Road, will sponsor revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Dec. 13-16, and 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17. The evangelist will be Jamie Coulter of Hamburg, known as the skateboard preacher. Coulter was born with brittle bone disease which left him crippled, however he has ministered and sang all over the world, a spokesman said.

Eudora Missionary Baptist Church, 9405 Middle Warren Road, will host guest speaker, the Rev. Lou Shelton of Watkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec 10.


Mt. Pleasant AME Church, 1201 N. Magnolia St., will host the Rev. Cornelius David Wade as the guest preacher at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Wade, evangelism minister at St. John Baptist Church at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is a former member of Mt. Pleasant. Wade and the congregation will celebrate his 50th year in the ministry.


Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will host the eighth annual hospitality fellowship at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Willie Laws Sr., pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer, accompanied by his congregation.


Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will present its friends and family day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Kendall Simmons of Greater Paradise Covenant Church at Little Rock.


St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church, 5810 W. Malcomb St., will host the annual harvest program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Travis Harden, pastor of the Greater Mt. The appreciation service will continue at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Antioch Full Gospel Baptist Church at College Station.


New Direction Baptist Church, 3000 S. Louisiana St., will host its winter worship at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Rodney McFarland of Brooklyn, New York.
