University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's basketball coach George Ivory is currently serving a three-game suspension handed down by the NCAA.

The Commercial's sources initially reported the suspension of Ivory on Dec. 1, but it wasn't confirmed until Monday.

Ivory wasn't able to attend practices leading up to the Golden Lions' three-game West Coast road trip, where they played Santa Clara on Dec. 2, Oregon State on Dec. 9, and are set to play Fresno State on Wednesday.

Ivory will serve his three-game suspension through the Fresno State game, and then he'll be immediately reinstated.

According to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Athletic Director Lonza Hardy Jr., the reasoning of Ivory's suspension is that he didn't follow established policies.

"Everything is back on track," Hardy said. "And he has his team ready to move forward. He'll be reinstated on Dec. 16."

The Golden Lions (0-10) are winless on the season, and their next two opponents are Fresno State and Weber State.
