De Nes Productions/Dedric Jones & Chosen Praise will present “An Evening of Christmas” concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at St. James United Methodist Church, 900 N. University Drive. The service will also honor memories of several area residents.


The concert will feature singers from Jones’ latest Christmas Project entitled “Dedric Jones presents ‘When Friends Meet at Christmas.’” In addition to Jones and friends, guests will include Smith Brothers and many other Arkansas artists, according to a news release.


“Gospel artist Dedric Jones is excited to announce this concert geared to empower those who have lost loved ones in 2017,” according to the release.


“As citizens in this community, we have a responsibility to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn, whether it’s a death or other some other type of loss,” he said. “We will also recognize several families who have lost loved ones in this season.”


A candle light session will be held in memory of the pastor Lincoln Clardy of Unity Temple Church of God in Christ, Superintendent Joe L. Stocker of Main Street Church of God in Christ, and others, including Quince Ella Abercrombie, Margaret Ree Allen, Beatrice Brown, Jerome Scott Carroll, Juanita Coleman, Theo S. Dickerson Jr., Jean C. Edwards Sr., the Rev. Lorenzo Jones Sr., Edwin Lewis, Melinda Miller, Monica Murry, Willie “Chill” Lee Oglesby, Ruth Rice, Theresa Rowland, Jessica Lynn Turner Scott, the Rev. John Spicer, Lurenza Tyson Sr., Henry Wells, Alphia Adell Wilkerson, Erma Jean McDonald Williams and more.
