Summit Soundz, the wind ensemble at Summit Baptist Church, 901 Ridgway Road, will present a Christmas Concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, in the worship center. The concert is free and open to the public.

Secular and sacred music will include “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas,” “The Chipmunk Song” featuring the muted trumpet section, and “Merry Christmas, Darling” with tenor sax soloist, Taylor Hubanks, according to a news release.

Garry Henson, Watson Chapel Junior High School band director, will be featured on flugelhorn in an arrangement of “Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire.”

“This group has worked extremely hard to present this genre of Christmas music spanning many years and varied styles,” Lewis Hinkle, Summit’s music minister, said. “We want people to enjoy the celebration of the season with us.”

“The saxophone section spotlights the epic classic ‘Silent Night.’ The concert will conclude with a powerful arrangement of ‘O Holy Night,’” according to the release.

The women’s ensemble, Summit Sisters, will sing, and Santa will visit.
