Pine Bluff Alderman Glen Brown, Jr. has announced his decision to run for re-election for his Ward 2 seat in the May Democratic Party primary.
Brown Jr. is currently chair of the Development and Planning Committee, a member of the Ways & Means Committee as well as a member of the Traffic & Aviation Committee. Brown was also selected by the City Council to become a member of the Pine Bluff Advertising and Promotion Commission, where he serves as Vice-Chairman and Secretary-Treasurer.
In addition, Brown Jr. serves on the Aquatic/Multipurpose Center Committee, which is responsible for the design, fundraising and construction of the Pine Bluff Aquatic/Multipurpose Center, which will be located near Pine Bluff City Hall.
Brown Jr. was born and raised in Pine Bluff. He is a graduate of Watson Chapel High School and is a University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff graduate where he earned a bachelor’s of science in Biology. Brown Jr. also earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman Chiropractic College in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 2005. He has been in private practice as a Chiropractic Physician for over 10 years at Brown Chiropractic located in Pine Bluff.
Brown Jr. was recently featured in Rising Stars in our community, a special section in the Pine Bluff Commercial that celebrated success stories of young professionals in the community.
Brown Jr. is married to Kara Matthews Brown, also from Pine Bluff. They have two children, Kaitlyn and Glen III (Trey). The Browns are members of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
Brown Jr. is a Lifetime Subscribing member of the Pine Bluff chapter of the NAACP, a 2015 graduate of Leadership Pine Bluff, and a recent graduate of the Candidate Development Institute.
“It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Pine Bluff on the City Council,” he said. “There are so many great things happening in Pine Bluff right now. If we all keep working together, Pine Bluff will continue to progress.”
