The Pine Bluff Christmas Parade Dec. 7 portrayed a spirit of excellence that’s at the core of the community, according to a news release from Mayor Shirley Washington’s office.

“The outstanding efforts of Pine Bluff citizens made Thursday evening’s Christmas Parade a success,” according to the release. “After learning that there were no plans for this year’s Christmas Parade, the city worked with the community to ensure that this long-standing tradition would continue. Citizens demonstrated enthusiasm and pride for their city by decorating vehicles and practicing marches with only one week’s notice.”

Washington is excited that the demonstration of unity will lead to more gatherings, “including another extraordinary Christmas parade in 2018,” according to the release.
