Donald Ray Grimm, 87, of Pine Bluff died December 16, 2017 in Pine Bluff. Born October 11, 1930 in Wellsburg, WV, a son of Clarence Elsworth and Irene Leavitt Grimm, he grew up in Wellsburg and received his education there.
Moving to Pine Bluff in 1953 he worked for Hudson Bag before becoming a supervisor at Dierks Bag (later Weyerhauser). He founded Southeast Engravers with his wife, Molly Crump Grimm, in 1971. The Grimms were married June 27, 1964 in Pine Bluff and Mrs. Grimm died in 2011.
A member of First Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, he worked with Boy Scout Troop 106 at his church and was a member of Quapaw Lodge 730, F&AM.
Survivors include his son, Michael Grimm (Christine), Red Oak, Texas; daughter, Nancy Ellen Brown (Thom), Pine Bluff; sister, Nora “Pat” Blanche, Youngstown, Ohio; brother, Clarence Eugene Grimm, Wellsburg; grandchildren, April Carter (Neale), Jessica Wallis (Brad), Alec Brown, Adrianne Brown (Andrew), Jarod Grimm; great-granddaughter, Abigail Wallis.

Richard Scruggs, 61, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017.
He was born in Pine Bluff, August 11, 1956 to the late Grover Cleveland Scruggs Jr. and Wanda Lankford Scruggs.
Richard was reared and educated in Watson Chapel before graduating from Jefferson Prep in 1974, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Marketing from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
A natural-born salesman, Rick followed in the family footsteps by working at Grover Scruggs & Sons Steele Pipe Company until its closing.
Rick’s interests included art, history, and the old television show “The Rifleman”.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, George Scott Scruggs and Grover Cleveland Scruggs, III.
Survivors include his nieces, Susannah Scruggs of Maumelle, Caitlan Scruggs of Manhattan, Kan.; nephews, Anthony Scruggs of Houston, Texas, Michael Scruggs of New Orleans, La.; great-niece, Haiden Scruggs of Manhattan, Kan. ; great-nephew, Oliver Scruggs of Houston, Texas; and longtime companion, Karen Minor.
Memorial Service will be 6 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2017 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 p.m. until service time at Robinson’s.

Donna Lynne Green, 59, of Pine Bluff passed away December 14, 2017.
She was born in Pine Bluff on August 26, 1958 to the late Jimmy Green and Mary Reed Green.
Donna is survived by her brother, Jimmy “Ronnie” Green (Joyce Anne); sister, Sherry Gray (Bart) of Galena, Mo.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 2 - 4 pm in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home.
She lived life to the fullest and dearly loved her family and friends.

Virgie Nutt Yeargin, age 90 of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, December 7, 2017.
Born July 27, 1927 at Thornton, Ark., she was a daughter of the late William
E. B. Nutt and Ida M. Pierce Nutt. She was a graduate of Fordyce High School.
Virgie married Walter Yeargin, Jr. on June 8, 1946 at Fordyce, and they
lived in numerous places around the world during his 20-plus year military
career. Mr. Yeargin predeceased her on April 18, 2008.
A resident of Pine Bluff since 1965, she was a homemaker and a member of
First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Yeargin was also predeceased by a daughter, Linda Yeargin Vetsch;
four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Yeargin Ward (Frank); a sister, Dorothy Young; three grandchildren, Walter Kent Vetsch (Dione), Robert Craig Vetsch (Marie), and Megan Michelle Ward (Jon); six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017, 11 a.m. in
Chambersville Cemetery near Fordyce with Brother Ken Thornton officiating.

JONESBORO - Doyle Franklin McGowan, “Big Mac”, 82 of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Craighead Nursing Center. He was born March 11, 1935 in Bono to Willie F. and Clara McGowan. Doyle lived in Pine Bluff for over 40 years before returning to Jonesboro in 2013. He was retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad, served in the National Guard and was a member of the Herman Baptist Church. Doyle enjoyed woodworking, brick laying, basket and chair weaving.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary June McGowan; son, Russell Moore; brother, Wm. “Bill” McGowan; sister, Ellen Holladay.
Survivors include, son, Mark F. SHERIDAN - Simone St. John Black of Sheridan, Ark. was born October 17, 1939 in New Edinburg, Ark., the daughter of the late Harvey Chester St. John and Mary Adell Moseley St. John. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in White Hall. She was a graduate of New Edinburg High School and went on to UAM to obtain her education degree. She taught school for over 14 years and then became a stay at home mom. She was co-owner, along with her husband Johnny Black, of Pine Bluff Furniture.
Ms. Black died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 78.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Andrew Black, daughter, DeWana Gail Black, son, Mark Andrew Black, brother, Clyde St. John.
Survivors: daughter-in-law, Marilyn Carter Black of Sheridan; sister, Betty St. John King (Marvin) of New Edinburg; grandchildren, Megan Grace Black and Mike Shaw of Traskwood and Morgan Gail Black and Josh Ray of Sheridan; 4 great grandchildren, Alexis and Bailee Shaw and Ian and Isaac Ray and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

HOT SPRINGS - Robert Hodge Rowland, 82, of Hot Springs, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Friday, December 15, 2017.
He was born November 23, 1935 in Pine Bluff, son of Elmo and Annie Noe Rowland.
Mr. Rowland was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1954. He earned his degree from Monticello A&M (now University of Arkansas at Monticello).
Robert worked in manufacturing for many years, including Varco-Pruden, and retired from Strong Manufacturing in sales.
While living in Pine Bluff, he was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. After moving to Hot Springs, Robert moved his membership to First Baptist Church of Hot Springs.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Jimmie Nell Price Rowland; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Williams Slaten Rowland, whom he married July 11, 2008 in Pine Bluff; two daughters, Lori Lynn Aureli (Roger) of Sheridan and Leah Rowland Pondrom of New Iberia, La.; two step-daughters, Suzanne Hall (Wesley) of Hot Springs and Lori Slaten of North Little Rock; brother, David Rowland of Weatherford, Texas; sister, Amelia Lais of Ore.; grandson, Branden Pondrom; and two step-grandchildren, John Stephen Hall and Hannah Grace Hall.
