Donald Ray Grimm, 87, of Pine Bluff died December 16, 2017 in Pine Bluff. Born October 11, 1930 in Wellsburg, W.V., a son of Clarence Elsworth and Irene Leavitt Grimm, he grew up in Wellsburg and received his education there.

Moving to Pine Bluff in 1953 he worked for Hudson Bag before becoming a supervisor at Dierks Bag (later Weyerhauser). He founded Southeast Engravers with his wife, Molly Crump Grimm, in 1971. The Grimms were married June 27, 1954 in Pine Bluff and Mrs. Grimm died in 2011.

A member of First Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, he worked with Boy Scout Troop 106 at his church and was a member of Quapaw Lodge 730, F&AM.

Survivors include his son, Michael Grimm (Christine), Red Oak, Texas; daughter, Nancy Ellen Brown (Thom), Pine Bluff; sister, Nora “Pat” Blanche, Youngstown, Ohio; brother, Clarence Eugene Grimm, Wellsburg; grandchildren, April Carter (Neale), Jessica Wallis (Brad), Alec Brown, Adrianne Brown (Andrew), Jarod Grimm; great-granddaughter, Abigail Wallis.

Pauline Berley

WHITE HALL - Pauline Berley, 93, of White Hall, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2017.

She was born November 11, 1924 in Banks, to Abb and Nannie Wolfe Nichols.

She was the owner and operator of several small fast food businesses.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Berley, whom she married on December 24, 1946, in Camden; her parents; and siblings: Audrey Yeager, Bernice McKinnon, J.O. Nichols, Odell Nichols, Edna Walker, Curtis Nichols, Jean Nance, and Annette Rogers.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Hart, of White Hall; a son, Dr. Ken Berley (Patty) of Rogers; grandchildren: Chris Hart (Jada) of White Hall, John Hart (Betty) of Dyersburg Tenn., Haley Berley of Rogers, Megan Wallace of Atlanta, Ga., Stephanie Calkins of Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Chloe and Hunter.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. at Robinson’s.

Funeral services will be 10 am, Wednesday, December 20, 2017, First Assembly of God with Reverend Gary Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Memorial Gardens.

Karen Woodward

Karen Lynn Lovell Kenward Woodward, age 63, of Pine Bluff, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 16, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Born August 23, 1954 at Stuttgart, she was the daughter of Mrs. Evelyn Rose Heinzelman Lovell Edwards and the late Gene Lovell.

She was predeceased by her two brothers, Eddie Ray Lovell of Stuttgart and Billy Lovell of Pine Bluff; her sister, Mary Lovell; and step-father, Charles Edwards.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Danny Kenward, II and David Kenward, both of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 21, 2017, 10 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Bell officiating. Interment will be in Almyra Cemetery in Arkansas County at 1:30 p.m.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home.

Opal Edwards

ALTUS, OKLA. - Opal Pauline Edwards, 88, of Altus, Okla., passed away May 24, 2017 at her home. Born July 17, 1928, in Mangum, Okla. to Eva McCoy-Jenkins & Andrew Collins (USAF). Opal grew up with her siblings, Henry Williams, Willie Jenkins, Annie McCoy-Dukes, and Bertha McCoy. She attended school in Altus. She later met her true love, Barry C. Edwards (USAF). In 1954, they married and later had 5 off springs.

Over her life, she worked as a hairdresser, at a café in Altus, at JCMH as a NA for over 10 years and later as a care provider. She was a member of the AME Church in Pine Bluff and the NHB Church in Altus. She enjoyed helping others, sewing, and gardening.

She is survived by her off springs, Patricia Edwards & Evette Keen, Altus, Grace Boyd, Ga. and Cathy Edwards, OKC and companion, Mickey Briscoe, Altus. Grandchildren, Pauline Henry, Ga., Gary Lamont Stevenson, OKC, Titus & Gerrell Keen, Va. Matthew Rice, OKC ,Philip & Vincent Atkins, Texas, Ta-Tanisha Gordon, OKC and 10 great grandchildren.

She was cremated by Kincannon Funeral Home, Altus and is preceded in death by spouse, a son, Charles Edwards, parents, siblings, and others.

A celebration of her life was held in Edmond, Okla.
