The Three Rivers Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count will be held Friday, Dec. 29, under the direction of Rob Doster. Beginning birders are welcome and will be placed with experienced birders.
The Christmas Bird Count is a census of birds in the Western Hemisphere. It is conducted in the Northern Hemisphere in the winter season and is overseen by the National Audubon Society, according to a news release.
This year’s event marks the 118th count. The information gathered is used by scientists to make decisions for preservation projects.
