Barnes Temple Church of God in Christ, 10301 Princeton Pike, will present its annual toy giveaway at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. A bus load of free and new toys will be given away. The first lady, Cakneller Brown, has been conducting this event for years. She enjoys helping families and putting smiles on the children’s faces. God has placed it in her heart to bless others, a spokesman said.

Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 706 S. Cypress St., and the pastor, the Rev. Andrew L. Williams, will celebrate the birth of Christ at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25.

Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church, 121 W Martin St., will present its annual Christmas program at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. The youth department will present “Jesus is the Reason for the Season” and the community is invited to attend.

Central Presbyterian Church, 6300 Trinity Drive, will hold its annual Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. All are invited to join in the Christmas service.

Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 3116 Port Road, will host its annual Christmas program at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will present its annual Christmas program at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, during morning services.

Unity Temple Church of God in Christ, 4401 W. Sixth Ave., will host George and Fannie Washington, pastors of El Dorado, at Christmas worship service at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25. The public is invited to worship with the church as they keep Christ in Christmas, a spokesman said.

St. James United Methodist Church, 900 N. University Drive, will be the site for “Christmas With the Beard Family” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23. In addition to the Beard Singers, groups will include the Golatt Jrs, Bishop Randle and the Voices of Greeville, Mississippi, William Singers, Spiritualettes, Singing Revs, Pure Purpose and a surprise guest.

Trinity Episcopal Church, 703 W. Third Ave., invites the community to join them Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. A Christmas Concert will be held at 10 p.m. and the Festival Eucharist will be held at 10:30 p.m.

New Beginnings Baptist Church, 8826 Old Warren Road, will continue its drive through Nativity scene with live animals from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec 22-23. The event opened Thursday, Dec. 21.

New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will feature the youth department in a skit during worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24.
