First Electric Cooperative’s member-supported Operation Round-Up program awarded $22,700 to 18 local organizations in December.


Members who enroll in Operation Round-Up volunteer to have their electric bill rounded up to the next even dollar amount each month. They have raised more than $957,000 for local service organizations and scholarships for high school seniors since 1998.


Recipients by county include:


In Arkansas County – Restoration of Hope received $1,500.


In Grant County – Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Grant County received $1,000; The Literacy Council of Grant County received $500; and Keeping the Faith Women’s Shelter received $500.


In Cleburne County – Wilburn Fire & Rescue received $1,800; Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Cleburne County received $1,000; and CAPCA received $1,500.


In Faulkner County – Service Dogs of Distinction received $1,400.


In Lonoke County – Woodlawn Extension Homemakers Club received $1,000; and Lonoke County Fair and Livestock Show received $1,000.


In Perry County – Renewal Ranch Ministries received $2,000; Morrilton Human Relations Council, Inc. received $1,500; and Partners for Progress received $1,500.


In Pulaski County – Valentine/Wooten Awareness Council received $1,000; Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Pulaski County received $1,000; and Little Rock First Sergeant Council received $2,000.


Saline County – Imagination Library of Saline County received $1,500; and Saline 4-H Foundation received $1,000.
