Residents of Garden Pointe Assisted Living and The Gardens at Whispering Knolls Assisted Living plan to travel to The National Civil Rights Museum at Memphis, according to a news release.
The trip will be held on the federal Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 15. The residents are excited about going to the museum and having lunch at a Memphis restaurant, according to a news release.
Both centers are Davis Life Care assisted living facilities. Latoya Markham, activities director at Garden Pointe, and Jessica Moutry, activities director at The Gardens, discussed the plan with the chief executive officer, Brian Miller, according to the release.
“His first words were ‘Wonderful! Be safe and take lots of pictures.’ The two activities directors wanted to think outside the box and try something new,” according to release.
