Anniversaries


First Baptist Church Dew Drop, 1701 N. Bryant St., will celebrate the 24th anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. T.L. Breamsey Sr. and Jackie F. Breamsey, Sunday, Jan. 28. At 11 a.m., the guest speaker will be Carl Desmuke of GMOR (Gospel Ministry Outreach) Spiritual Revelations Extensions of Georgetown, Texas. At 3 p.m., the featured speaker will be Carl Ratliff, bishop of Evangelistic Temple Church of God in Christ at Little Rock.


Barnett Chapel Missionary Church, 1321 N. Birch St., will celebrate the 12th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Don and Isabelle Hawkins at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The guest speaker will be the Rev. C.E. Hawkins, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church at Stuttgart.


Allen Temple Missionary Church at Stuttgart will host the 26th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Gilbert Byrd Jr. at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Graylon Wilson, pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church at Wabbaseka.


Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will observe its 68th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The guest speaker will be the Rev. T.W. Scott, pastor of St. Paul AME Church of Arkadelphia, accompanied by his congregation.


Concerts/Musicals


Polk Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Star City will present the Lincoln Male Chorus Appreciation service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28.


Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will be the site for the pre-anniversary celebration of the Voices of Heaven at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. Admission is free and guest singers will include Angels of Praise, Determined, Blessed Voices, Heavenly Hearts and Nu-Image.


NuBread of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 W. 13th Ave., will present the 4th Sunday Live Gospel musical program at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. Nu-Begin-N Gospel Singers will be in concert.


Women’s programs


New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will conduct the Catch the Fire power seminar at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. Registration starts at 9:15 a.m. and the $7 registration fee includes lunch. The session one speaker will be Joyce Murry of Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, discussing “The Power of Forgiveness.” The session two speaker will be Robbie Williams of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church presenting “The Power of Prayer.”


Special events


Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4807 W. Sixth Ave., will present its annual Night in White at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The speaker will be the Rev. Rayford Barnes Sr., associate minister of Galilee. The service is the beginning of the church’s centennial anniversary.


Eudora Missionary Baptist Church, 9405 Middle Warren Road, will host guest speaker, the Rev. Ronald Young of New Faith Church at Pine Bluff, at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 28.


Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., will host a city-wide prayer at noon Saturday, Jan. 27.


Timothy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1304 S. Apple St., will observe Black History Month at 11 a.m. Sundays during February. Participants will learn about famous African Americans.


New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will present the ordination service of the Revs. Gerald Pinkins Sr., Dante’ Nicholson and Earnest Daniel Jr. at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Kirby Gulley, pastor of Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and president of Greater St. Marion District.


New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will present the musicians’ appreciation service honoring Kalebra Blair and Simeon Blair at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28.


Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold the annual installation of officers program at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, during their general worship service. The Rev. Lloyd Holcomb Jr. will be the guest speaker.


Union Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will observe its annual mission program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Brandon Dyer, pastor of Hunter’s Chapel Baptist Church at Crossett.


NuBread of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 W. 13th Ave., will celebrate the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The pastor, the Rev. Sammie Smith Jr., will speak.


Trinity Lutheran Church, 4200 Old Warren Road, will host the Ramsey Solutions’ Financial Peace University classes beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11. The course is for nine weeks. Details: www.fpu.com/1050002.
