Pine Bluff police are continuing their investigation into the early Tuesday morning shooting death of a 25-year-old Pine Bluff man.

Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley identified the victim as Deunta Blackmore, who was pronounced dead at 4:16 a.m. Tuesday by a doctor in the emergency room at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Kelley said the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office at Little Rock for an autopsy.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting at a residence on South Richard Street in the Dollarway area at about 3:30 a.m. and found the victim in the passenger seat of a car.

“This is an ongoing investigation and any assistance from the public would be appreciated,” police said in a news release.

This is Pine Bluff’s first homicide in the city in 2018, and the first since Nov. 30, 2017, police said. Last year, there were 28 homicides in Pine Bluff.
