Leadership Pine Bluff held its Emergency/Safety/Law Enforcement session Jan. 9. The class began the day by touring the county Office of Emergency Management led by Karen Blevins.


Leadership participants traveled a few blocks to the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center for lunch and a tour led by Sheriff Gerald Robinson, Major Lafayette Woods Jr. and Tyra Tyler-Johnson.


After lunch, the class met with Chief Shauwn Howell to tour the Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services Department and then Chief Ivan Whitfield to tour the Pine Bluff Police Department.


The class wrapped up the day by traveling to Island Harbor for a tour and overview of Pine Bluff Wastewater facilities led by Vincent Miles.
