The Pine Bluff Zebras defeated the White Hall Bulldogs 65-56 on Tuesday night in a conference matchup between the two teams.

The Zebras jumped out to an 11-1 start after multiple baskets from Harris Martin, Kendrick Thorn and Jyrimee Thompson.

Later in the first, Tylin Walker made a basket, and Devin Koonce added a pair of free throws for the Bulldogs. Antonio Snow made a pair of free throws, and Johnathon Gidden knocked down a three-pointer at the buzzer to extend the Zebras’ lead to 22-6 at the end of the quarter.

In the second quarter, Quentin Urqhart and Jabbari Blackmon scored six points apiece to help the Bulldogs spark a 10-5 run, but the Zebras held a 36-19 lead at halftime.

Both teams traded baskets in the third quarter, with Koonce scoring 6 points for the Bulldogs, and Justin Tillar and Snow combining for 10 points for the Zebras.

The Zebras held a 54-31 lead at the start of the fourth quarter, and the Bulldogs fought back to come as close as trailing Pine Bluff 63-47.

White Hall would outscore the Zebras 25-11 in the fourth quarter. However, Pine Bluff held off the Bulldogs for a victory.

Thorn led the Zebras with 15 points, and Snow added 11 points to the total.

Blackmon and Urqhart both led White Hall with 8 points apiece.


The Pine Bluff Fillies won 65-44 over the White Hall Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday night.

The Lady Bulldogs started the game on a 6-2 run over the Fillies after baskets from Jaidus King, Sam Jackson and Camry Garner. The Fillies would end the quarter with a 15-7 lead after Bre Gray scored 11 points to cap off a 13-1 run.

Jaidan Woods and Gray knocked down back-to-back triples for the Fillies to begin the second quarter.

Midway through the quarter, Woods made two more three-pointers for Pine Bluff, but Garner made two of her own for White Hall to cut the Fillies’ lead at halftime to 33-21.

In the third quarter, Keirria Brice scored 8 of the Fillies’ 16 points to pace the way, as Pine Bluff extended their lead to 49-29 after the period. Jackson would try to get things going for White Hall after scoring 12 points in the fourth quarter, but it wouldn't be enough to top the Fillies.

Gray led the way for Pine Bluff with 19 points. Woods and Brice both contributed with 14 points apiece.

For White Hall, Jackson led with a game-high of 20 points, and JJ Jefferson added 11 points.
