A 2-year-old was flown to a Little Rock hospital Wednesday after being rescued by firefighters from a Pine Bluff apartment blaze.
According to a press release from Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services, firefighters were sent to an apartment at 4324 Union Ave. at 9:12 a.m. in response to the blaze and a report that the child was possibly still inside.
After being rescued, the child and an adult were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation. The toddler was later transferred by Pafford Air Ambulance to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
The press release said that the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire marshal. A damage estimate was not available Wednesday.
