A Pine Bluff man who was shot multiple times Wednesday, March 14, died at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, and police have identified a suspect.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley identified the victim as Lonnie Urquhart Jr., 37.
Pine Bluff police Lt. David De Foor said Marquanthony Sullivan, 26, is wanted on probable cause of first-degree murder. Police report that when last seen, Sullivan had fled the scene in an older model white or gray primer Oldsmobile vehicle.
Urquhart was pronounced dead in the operating room at Jefferson Regional Medical Center at 1:50 p.m. The cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds, and Kelley said the body would be sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office at Little Rock Thursday for an autopsy.
The shooting was reported at about 12:24 p.m. at 2920 S. Fir St., Apt. 13. When Officer Chris Kendrick arrived, she reported that she saw Urquhart on the ground bleeding heavily in front of the apartment. She also reported that it appeared that Urquhart had been shot upstairs in a bedroom and Urquhart stumbled outside for assistance.
Kendrick reported that a woman who was at the scene identified Sullivan as the shooter. She said she and Urquhart had been in an altercation earlier in the day and Sullivan entered the apartment without permission at the time of the shooting.
She also reported that it appeared Urquhart had been shot five times.
According to De Foor, a motive for the shooting is still under investigation and detectives were continuing to search for Sullivan Wednesday afternoon.
Anyone with information on Sullivan's location is asked to call the Detective Division at 730-2090 or the dispatch center at 541-5300. All calls will be kept confidential.
This was the second homicide reported in Pine Bluff this year. Last year, there were 28 homicides reported.
