Anniversaries


International House of Praise, 4511 Faucett Road, will host the 14th appreciation service of the pastor and co-pastor, Willie Edwards Jr. and Carla Edwards, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 27-28, and 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29. Guest speakers will be apostles, William Shaw Jr., Woodrow Parker and Craig Banks.


Full Faith Christian Center, 1320 E. 17th Ave., will celebrate the pastoral appreciation program of Isaac and JoAnn Barron at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 29. The speaker will be Janice Harrison, an evangelist.


Kingdom Builders Outreach Church of God In Christ, 3105 S. Apple St., will observe its 13th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29. The guest speaker will be Superintendent Jerry W. Williams of Prayer Garden Church of God in Christ.


Judah Restoration Worship Center, 2401 S. Main St., will honor its pastor and bishop, Esau Watson Jr., on his 26th anniversary, at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29. The guest speaker will be Steven Arnold, bishop of Grace Temple Church at Little Rock.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will host Keenon Coleman’s “When Minstrels Gather” at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 28. Guests will include Jarvys Jones, Isaac Brown and GANG, Jorad L. Holmes and Terani Scott and Co.

Family Time Baptist Church & Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will present a musical benefit praise service for Glynnis “Niecy” Williams of The Williams Singers of Pine Bluff. The event will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 28. Singers will include Courtney Wright & Triumphant, the Singing Revs, Williams Singers, Spiritualettes, Mighty Gospelettes and Pure Purpose.


Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will host the pre-anniversary celebration of the Heavenly Hearts at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29. Guests will include the William Singers, Spiritualettes, Hayes Family, Voices of Heaven and Felicia and the Supreme Angels.


Men’s/women’s events


Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1307 W. 16th Ave., present its annual men’s day at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 29. The featured speaker will be retired Circuit Judge Marion Humphrey of Little Rock, formerly of Pine Bluff. The pastor of Allison Presbyterian Church at Little Rock, Humphrey and his wife, Vernita, have one son, Marion Humphrey Jr.


Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, 515 S. Mulberry St., will host the Pine Bluff Southwest District Women’s Department’s annual Women of Faith Conference. The service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, featuring Latunja R. Sockwell.


Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will observe its annual women’s day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Deborah Senter of Cheeks Chapel AME Church and New Hope AME Church of Sherrill. The guest choir director will be Bessie Lancelin.


Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, 3700 W. Sixth Ave., will celebrate women’s day starting with a women’s retreat from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Delta Rivers Nature Center at Regional Park. Sunday, April 29, the speaker at 11 a.m. will be Shirley Barnes and the 3 p.m. speaker will be Veronica Alexander, a minister. Special music will be directed by Charlene Lacy and Brittany Enright.


Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1307 W. 16th Ave., will host the women’s ministry’s fifth Monday Service at 6:30 p.m. April 30. The guest speaker will be Felicia Fisher of First Trinity Church of God in Christ.


Revivals


True Vine “E” Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 W. Second Ave., will conduct its annual spring revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, April 25-27. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Robert Willis Jr., pastor of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.


New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 14th Avenue and Texas Street, will hold revival at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, May 1-3. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Larry C. Battles, pastor of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church and moderator of the Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Association.


Special events


Family Time Baptist Church & Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will present the first Golden Seniors’ Praise Service at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Henry “Hank” Wilkins IV, pastor of Living Grace Fellowship, accompanied by his congregation. Rena Jones will sing. The service is sponsored by the Mother’s Board Ministry at Family Time.


New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will host the mission workshop of the Greater St. Marion District Association Women’s Auxiliary. The event will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28. Presenters will be Lola Thrower, director of Christian Education; Alma Burt of St. John Missionary Baptist Church at Mitchellvile; and Patricia Johnson of St. James United Methodist Church.


Word of Faith Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1108 S. Poplar St., will observe its family and friends day at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, April 29. The pastor, Henry Land Jr., will be the speaker.


Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., will hold its Thursday night Evangelistic worship and trivia night at 6:30 p.m. May 3. Tammy Harris, an evangelist, will conduct the event and prizes will be given away. Father & Sons gospel group will perform each Thursday.


Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will host the evangelism workshop of the Regular St. Marion District Association at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28. The Rev. Renice Davis is the facilitator. The association will also conduct its fellowship worship service at Grace Temple at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29. The speaker will be the Rev. Richard Black, pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Theodis Shelton is the moderator and the Rev. Amelio P. Howard is the pastor of Grace Temple and the congress president.


Eudora Missionary Baptist Church, 9405 Middle Warren Road, will host guest speaker, the Rev. Leroy Edwards Jr. of Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, April 29.


Free Gift Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will present its fifth Sunday fellowship service at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 29. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Arthur Bealer, pastor of New King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church and Syrene Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas, accompanied by his congregations.


Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church at Jefferson will present its mission Sunday service at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 29. The guest speaker will be Angie Gaitlin, an evangelist of Evangelist Outreach Church at Little Rock.


Nu Bread of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 W. 13th Ave., will host the Brotherhood Day at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 29, with the pastor, the Rev. Sammie Smith Jr., speaking. The church will also host a fundraiser from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at the church.


Greater Battle Chapel Baptist Church at Altheimer will host a musicians’ appreciation program at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Chris Briggs of New Birth Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


Youth


First Baptist Church, 4901 McDonley Road, at Ladd, will present its youth explosion at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29. The guest presenter will be the Rev. Xavier Diamond of New Town Baptist Church. The church will also host fun day from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, April 28.
