The Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce will present the Business Expo Thursday, May 3, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
“The Chamber’s 2018 Business Expo is here,” a spokesman said in a news release. “Be sure to stop by on Thursday to learn more about the many businesses serving our community and check out their creative use of our theme ‘Seas the Opportunities’.”
The event will begin with the Expo Breakfast from 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday at the convention center banquet hall. Robert Moore Jr., a member of the Arkansas State Highway Commission, will be the keynote speaker for the breakfast.
An Arkansas City resident, Moore was appointed to the highway commission in January 2013. He is a former three-term member of the Arkansas House of Representatives and served as Speaker of the House for the 88th General Assembly.
Expo breakfast tickets are $15 each or $200 for a table of eight.
Business Expo exhibits will open at the convention center from 9-10 a.m. for VIP (exhibitors and invited guests), and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the general public. Admission is $5.
Other activities will include:
• Jefferson Regional Medical Center will present the 2018 Health Fair during Biz Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the back of the convention center arena. The health fair will feature blood sugar screenings, cholesterol screenings, weight and body fat screenings, balance screenings, blood pressure screenings and breast self-awareness techniques. All screenings are free to wearers of Expo wristbands.
• Winners of the Business Person of the Year and Non-Profit Business of the Year will be announced at the expo breakfast.
• Eighteen local charitable organizations will be highlighted in the Community Spotlight at the expo.
For exhibitors, Chamber member rate booths cost $250 and non-member rate booths are $360. Candidates for political office should call the Chamber for booth rate details, a spokesman said.
