Construction work on Interstate 530 in Jefferson County requires a traffic shift from mile marker 41 to mile marker 45 beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday, May 17.

To allow for improvements of the I-530 northbound lanes, northbound traffic will be shifted onto the southbound lanes, resulting in one lane of southbound traffic and one lane of northbound traffic, according to a news release from Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT).

Traffic will be separated by tubular markers. Weather permitting, the traffic shifts will continue until the improvements are complete, according to the release.

Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Details: IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov or on Twitter @myARDOT.
