The Pine Bluff Optimist Club will present nine scholarships during their annual Student Appreciation Banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in the fellowship hall of St. John AME Church, 1117 W. Pullen Ave.
Mayor Shirley Washington will be the speaker and state Rep. Vivian Flowers will make special presentations.
The club annually recognizes graduating seniors from Jefferson County who have excelled academically and have impressive records of community service, according to a news release.
