The Pine Bluff Kiwanis Club presented the Hope Women’s Resource Center with a check for more than $700 along with hundreds of diapers and other baby supplies May 22.
The Kiwanis Club collected the baby items and funds during their annual Mother’s Day drive to benefit the Hope Women’s Resource Center. The collection was held May 12 at Super 1 food stores on Dollarway Road and 28th Avenue.
Each year, Kiwanis volunteers host the event to honor moms and mothers-to-be. This year, the volunteers collected more than 1,700 diapers and more than 7,000 baby wipes. The center also received baby food and toiletries.
“We are grateful for our partnership with the Pine Bluff Kiwanis Club,” Debra Burchfield, executive director of the Hope Women’s Resource Center, said. “This generous donation helps us continue to serve new mothers and the women of Pine Bluff.”
The Hope Women’s Resource Center is a faith-based ministry offering free pregnancy tests, limited obstetrical ultrasounds and parenting and prenatal education courses. In addition to the location on South Hazel Street, the center’s mobile unit serves Dewitt, Dumas, Star City and Stuttgart. Details: www.supporthope.org or 870-535-0811.
