Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Delta Omega Omega Chapter, and its non-profit First Sisters Outreach Inc., conducted a litter management and community beautification project.


“On Saturday, May 19, 2018, Playground Mobilization Impact Day, Environmental Ownership brought both organizations together to participate in the Pine Bluff Clean and Beautiful Adopt a Spot program,” according to a news release.


The sorority and First Sisters Outreach (501c3) adopted the area at the intersection of Cherry and Poplar streets. An Adopt-a-Spot sign will be erected displaying names of both organizations.


“First Sisters Outreach, Incorporated is a non-profit organization established in 2016 by AKA’s Delta Omega Omega Chapter. The non-profit focuses on community outreach and support programs targeting youth, young adults and families,” according to the release.


AKA’s Target IV program encourages healthy environments and the improvement of underserved communities, according to the release.


“Through its Acts of Green Program, members promote environmental sustainability by encouraging recycling, litter prevention and waste management through daily green efforts in local communities,” according to the release.
