Christine B. “Chris” Worthen, 88, of Jefferson, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018. She was born August 26, 1929, in Trumann to the late Vernon and Alma Burgess Robertson. Christine was reared and received her early education in Trumann. She was a charter member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, and currently attended Family Church. She had previously worked as the handicapped van driver for the Area Agency on Aging for 18 years.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Hubert Worthen, who she married January 26, 1947; and 3 sons, Bruce Worthen, Michael Worthen and David Worthen.

Survivors include her daughter, Tara (James) Best; daughters-in-law, Tonia Worthen, Wanda Mills; grandchildren, Tess Calhoun, Chastity Scroggins, Christopher Worthen, Jennifer D. Worthen, Julie (Michael) Barber, Haley (Parker) Dunlap, Jennifer (Jason) Worthen; and great-grandchildren, Trenton Allred, Austin Scroggins, Taylor Scroggins and Aaron Worthen.

The family wishes to express their extreme thanks to all of the staff and residents of White Hall Nursing and Rehab for the wonderful treatment given to Mrs. Worthen.

Funeral Services will be 10:00AM Thursday at the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Brother Myron “Bud” Calhoun officiating and Brother James Pierce as an honorary officiant. Jewel White

White Hall- Jewel Faye Lawson White, 83, of White Hall, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2018.

She was born March 11, 1935, in Dardanelle, to Walter and Dorothy Chesney Lawson.

She had worked at Harvest Foods and Walmart as a demonstrator.

Mrs. White was a member of First Pentecostal Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James, George, Frank Lawson; sisters, Gladys Revils and Evelena Lunsford.

Survivors include her husband, James E. White; sons, James L. White, Larry Taylor both of California; daughters, Jewel Miller of California, Margie Taylor of Mountain Home; brother, Walter Lawson of White Hall; sister, Ellen Davis of Malvern; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2018, 5 to 7 pm, at Ralph Robinson & Son.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 1, 2018, 10:00 am, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home, with Reverend Bobby Matthews officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Helen Ashcraft

Warren- Helen “Virginia” Lasiter Ashcraft, age 84 of Warren, AR formerly of Pine Bluff, AR died Monday, May 28th in the Baptist Hospital at Little Rock. She was born February 22nd, 1934 in Warren, AR a daughter of the late Marion Lee Lasiter and Bessie Reep Lasiter. She was a retiree of Central Maloney for decades, a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, a 1952 graduate of the Warren Public Schools and the widow of Thomas Ashcraft, whom she married October 22nd, 1964 and he died November 6th 2006. A sister Lois Benson, brothers Travis Lasiter and James “Booty” Lasiter also preceded her in death. “Ginger” loved reading and spending time with her family, she was full of fun and loved by all.

Surviving is a sister Shirly Lowry, Crossett, AR and a sister in law Mayme Lasiter, Warren, AR along with a host of nieces and nephews.
