The Housing Authority of the City of Pine Bluff will host its Strong Family Initiative’s Job Fair/Health Fair from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, June 15, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.


From 3:30–5 p.m., a special event will feature guest presenter, Fitzgerald Hill, former president of Arkansas Baptist College at Little Rock and former head coach of San Jose State University.


The event is free and open to the public. The theme for the initiative is: “Empowering Fathers, Mothers and Children.”


During the health fair, general screenings will be offered to participants.


The job fair will feature representatives from area businesses, including Express Employment, Tyson Foods, Family Dollar, Randstad employment/recruitment agency, Arkansas Department of Workforce Services and others. Participants should bring resumes.


The event will also include representatives from local agencies including Southeast Arkansas Behavior Health Services Inc., Jefferson Comprehensive Care System Inc., Ambassadors for Christ Youth Ministries, and recruiters from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Southeast Arkansas College.


“This will provide opportunity for fathers and mothers to connect with resources within the community that will allow them to become employed,” according to a news release.
