The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Public Library System will hold summer programs at its various library sites.
Altheimer Branch Library
Ages 4-17 — Family — Game Night — June 12 at 6:30 p.m.: On Game Night, the library break outs board games, playing cards, and dominoes and lets participants and families have fun.
Ages 4‐17 — Delta River Nature Center Presentation — June 14, at 2 p.m.: The nature center staff will present an up close and personal experience with an American Alligator. Students will learn about reptiles and what makes the alligator special. At the end of the presentation, students who would like to touch the alligator will get their chance.
Ages 4-17 — Bad Art Hour — June 21 at 2 p.m.: Individuals will be encouraged to create their own unique piece of art in a relaxing atmosphere understanding that whatever they create does not have to be perfect. Various items will be available to make their piece come alive.
Ages 8-17 — Invent With Scratch! — June 28 at 2 p.m.: Children will have the opportunity to invent their own game using Scratch! Scratch is a free graphics program intended to teach programming by snapping code blocks together to form complete programs.
Family — Shall We Dance? Movie Marathon — July 5 at 2 p.m.: Family and friends will enjoy light refreshments while watching a movie full of music
Ages 4-17 — End of Summer Celebration — July 12 at 2 p.m.: Participants will be given awards and snacks for summer accomplishments.
Summer Reading Club will also be held for children at the Altheimer Library.
Main Branch Library
Adults — Genealogy: Tell Your Story — June 12 at 6:30 p.m.: George Mitchell will be presenting a program on how to tell your story. He and his wife have been interested in genealogy for more than 25 years.
Adults/Teens — Concert: Still A River — June 30 at 5:30 p.m.: Donna and Kelly Mulhollan are carrying on the ancient tradition of storytelling in song. They will be performing story songs about the Buffalo River.
Children Activities Ages Up to 13 — Summer Reading Club — June 6 at 2 p.m.: Read-A-Thon. Jump start your summer by diving into a good book. Spend one hour reading at our library during our Read-A-Thon.
June 13 at 9:30 a.m.: The Art of Catfish. Join the group as the Delta Nature Center provides information on catfish.
June 18 at 10 a.m.: Mr. Nick’s Magic Show. Join participants as the magician Magic Mr. Nick creates illusions before your eyes. He is an award-winning magician and children’s author.
June 20 at 9:30 a.m.: Jazz Street Jam. Join participants as The Jazz Aquarium serenades them with a live band.
June 27 at 9:30 a.m.: The Art of Oils. Join the group as Dot Hart teaches about the importance of essential oils.
July 11 at 9:30 a.m.: Libraries Rock Program and end of the Summer Party. Join the group as the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas teaches them the importance of Art. They will also provide Snow Cones at the end of the presentation.
Teen Activities Ages 14-18 — Summer Reading Club
June 7 at 2 p.m.: Dance Into Summer Kick Off. Join participants as they battle on the Wii for the best Michael Jackson dancer.
June 14 at 2 p.m.: CD Art! Join participants as they create beautiful art work using CD’s.
June 21 at 2 p.m.: Painting with a Twist. Participants should bring creativity to the canvas and express their vision through painting.
June 28 at 2 p.m.: Rock Painting. Join participants as they get creative with painting rocks and creating words of encouragement.
July 5 at 2 p.m.: Poetry Slam. Join participants as they perform spoken words through poetry.
July 12 at 2 p.m. End of Summer Party. Come in and cool off with a snow cone as they celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Club.
Extra Activities — Summer Reading Club Every Friday beginning June 8 through Aug. 17 at 1 p.m. Free movie, popcorn, and drink.
Daily Activities — Touch Screen Educational Computers, Computer Lab, Playstation 4, Wii, Lego Table, Pretend Play, and Table Top Games.

Toddler to Teens — June 11 at 10 a.m. : Critter’s Rock! There will be a story and then participants will paint Critter Rocks! Presented by the Arkansas Game & Fish.
Toddler to Teens — June 18 at 10 a.m. : Story Time and then they will have fun crafts, presented by the Redfield Chamber of Commerce.
Family — June 26 at 2 p.m.: Bibliomancer! Storytelling and Mindreading by Paul Prater.
Toddler to Teens — July 2 at 10 a.m. : Story Time and then they will do fun crafts, presented by the Redfield Chamber of Commerce.
Toddler to Teens — July 9 at 10 a.m. : Snow Cone Party and Prizes for the last day of the Summer Reading Club.

Ages up to 3 — Toddler Time — June 7, 14, 21, 28 and July 5, 12, 19, 25 at 10 a.m. : Toddler Time is an interactive, playful program for toddlers and their favorite grown-ups. Join them for a 20-minute program with time afterward for play and socializing.
Family — Get Your Game On at the Library
June 11, 18, 25 at 2 p.m. and July 9, 16, 23, 30 at 2 p.m.: There will be board and card games for children and families. The library supplies the games; you enjoy the friendly competition.
Family — Jazz with Scott Fisher — June 12 at 10:30 a.m.: Learn all about Jazz, America’s own music. Born in the South, and ranging from Swing to Smooth Jazz, this music will have your toes tapping. Join Pine Bluff’s own Scott Fisher for a swinging good time!
Ages 5+ — Little Robots — June 13 at 10:30 am: Check out Ozobots, the color sensitive little robots that follow lines. You’ll make them work, then learn how to program them with color. For first-timers and experienced Ozobot programmers.
Family — Arkansas Rocks! with Camille Gernhart — June 19 at 10:30 a.m.: Find out how rocks and minerals help us in our everyday life. As a geologist, Gernhart answers questions every day about Arkansas’ minerals, fossil fuels, water resources and geological hazards.
Family — Country Dance-erama — June 20 at 10:30 a.m.: Join caller Ron Wise as he shows what you can do with some good old county music.
Family — Bibliomancer with Paul Prater — June 26 at 10:30 am: Join Paul Prater, storyteller, mind reader and psychic entertainer for a surprising and entertaining show.
