The University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology-McGehee will host Re-Entry Resource Fairs, entitled “Trials to Triumph.”


The purpose is to connect ex-offenders with resources and employment opportunities, according to Cortez Smith, program director for the Career Pathways Initiative at the McGehee campus.


Thursday, July 26 — The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church Life Center at Monticello for people from Drew, Ashley, Bradley and Chicot counties.


Tuesday, July 31 — The session will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the UAM College of Technology at McGehee for persons from Desha and Chicot counties.


Each Resource Fair will provide information about employment, education, housing, legal services, health care, food security and rehabilitation, according to a news release.


Participants are encouraged to dress in professional attire and will receive help in developing a resume.


Event organizers are the UAM COT-McGehee, Arkansas Community Corrections, the Southeast Arkansas Economic Development District, and the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services.
