The community is invited to participate in the Gospel Talent Explosion at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Trinity Annex Building, 2900 W. Sixth Ave.
The fundraiser is open to all choirs, soloists, praise dancers and musicians. The entry fee for contestants is $50 and the registration deadline is Friday, July 13. Prizes include first place — $125 and a trophy; second place — $50 and a trophy; and third place — trophy.
This Gospel Talent Explosion will be presented by the Arkansas State Association of Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World Inc. (Daughters’ Auxiliary I.B.P.O.E. of W.)
“Proceeds will benefit the National Sickle Cell Foundation and a local organization that brings hope to families affected by this devastating disease,” according to a news release.
The emcee will be Kim Jones Sneed, founder and publisher of Stuff In The Bluff. Local gospel music artists will make special appearances.
“We are asking each state association member and the citizens of Pine Bluff to support this worthwhile event,” a spokesman said in a letter from the Arkansas State Association of Elks.
Admission for the general public is is $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
