The Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department promoted two firefighters to engineer and two engineers to lieutenants during a ceremony last week, according to a news release.

Fire and Emergency Services Chief Shauwn Howell promoted Cory Collins and Jeffrey Miles to engineer and promoted Richard Kress and Fred Batemon to lieutenant.

Collins is a six-year veteran of the Fire and Emergency Services Department. He began his career on July 9, 2012, and is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. He and his fiancé Lindsay Copeland will be getting married in August.

Miles is a four-year veteran of the department. He started his career in the fire service at Morning Star Fire Department, where he served for four years before coming to Pine Bluff on Jan. 13, 2014. He is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. He and his wife Danie have four children, Matthew, Daniel, Kylie and Mila.

Kress is a six-year veteran of the department. He started his career with Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department on March 23, 2012. He is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and is also an instructor for the Arkansas Fire Training Academy in Camden. He is married to Amy Kress.

Batemon is an eight-year veteran of the department. He began his career on July 13, 2009. He is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. Batemon and his wife Tonya have one daughter, Kristyl.
