University of Arkansas Pine Bluff graduate Tikel Davis recently accepted a job offer with Northrop Grumman, a global security company, at Palmdale, Calif.
Northrop Grumman also hired several UAPB student interns.
A Pine Bluff native, Davis received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial technology management and applied engineering in May 2018.
At UAPB, Davis received a number of summer internships and Cooperative Education experiences.
She also attended several leadership conferences that included the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Institute and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
“With the help of her department and the Office of Career Services, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) scholar was able to obtain the work ethics and soft skills needed to make her marketable upon graduation,” according to a news release.
Northrop Grumman also hired several UAPB students majoring in industrial technology management and applied engineering for summer internships. Rodrequis Thompson, a junior from Pine Bluff, and Blake Jackson, a junior from Chatsworth, Calif., are working at Palmdale, California; and Shadelle Boddy, a junior from Chicago, Ill., will be doing his second rotation with the company at their Baltimore, Md., location.
“Northrop Grumman Corporation is a leading global security company providing innovative systems, products and solutions to government and commercial customers,” according to the release.
The students made a connection with Northrop Grumman at the NSBE Conference in 2017 and 2018.
“Each student took advantage of the opportunities and services offered by the Office or Career Services,” according to the release.
