Star City - Bernice Petty, 93 of Star City passed away Saturday. She was born October 6, 1924 in Star City to the late, George W. and Isabell McGriff Laughry. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Star City and her greatest joy was her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Mrs. Petty was also preceded in death by her husband, Denzel Petty, two grandsons, Greg Daugherty and David Petty, one brother, Vick Laughry and a sister, Aileen Drake.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Petty (Judy) of Plano, Texas, James Petty (Dianne) of Pilot Point, Texas, one daughter, Linda Stephens (Sam) of Cornerville, Six Grandchildren and Ten Great Grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Today, June 26, 2018 at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Bro. Max Austin Daugherty officiating. Visitation was held Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 14 Parkston Circle, North Little Rock Ar. 72116.

Pallbearers will be John Petty, Scott Daugherty, Art Petty, Matt Stephens, Ken Krauttea and Ray Burton. Mary Watson

Mary Ann Nelson Watson, 71, of Pine Bluff passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018. Mary Ann was born December 10, 1946 in Kelso, Arkansas, to Jesse and Dorothy Weaver Nelson. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting and embroidering. Mary Ann loved making blankets and scarves for her family members that meant the world to her. She will be greatly missed by her faithful four legged companion, Squirt. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Louis Watson and one brother, George Nelson.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Keasling of Shepherd, Texas; grandchildren, Ondrea Lohman, Patrick Lohman, both of Woodville, Texas, Kevin Keasling, Katelynn Keasling, both of Huntsville, Texas, Traci Keasling of Shepherd, Texas; great grandchildren, Clair Lohman, Jordan Lohman, Trinity Lohman, Breanna Lohman, Tyler Keasling, Gracielynn Keasling; sister, Thelma Bass Ault of Pine Bluff; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Caren Tipton of Harker Height, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Pine Bluff with Nina Brown officiating. Marvin Taylor

William Marvin Taylor of Pine Bluff died Monday, June 25, 2018. He was 75.

A son of Aaron Taylor and Mable Hale Taylor, he was born April 26, 1943 at Pine Bluff, and graduated from Watson Chapel High School. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Arkansas A&M (now University of Arkansas Monticello).

He spent over 30 years in the railroad industry, working for the Cotton Belt and Southern Pacific Railroads before retiring as an officer with Burlington Northern Santa Fe.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby Joe and Jamie.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Wanda Allred Taylor; his son, Jason Wayne Taylor (Jennifer) of Little Rock; and his two granddaughters, Elizabeth Anne and Katherine Grace.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Cleveland County by Ralph Robinson & Son.
