The Desha County Compassionate Friends will host the 19th annual Walk to Remember at 7 a.m. Saturday, July 21, on the indoor track at Dumas Community Center at Dumas.

All parents, grandparents and siblings of deceased children are invited to join in the walk to remember all children gone too soon. Supportive friends, relatives, churches and organizations are also invited, a spokeswoman said in a news release.

“Whether you walk the two miles or a couple of hundred feet is not important. What matters is that you have taken this time to join with the friends —— new and old —— and families who are walking the same journey with you as in the past years,” the spokeswoman said.

If unable to walk, participants are invited to come sit and watch the walkers.

Compassionate Friends and supporters are asked to wear the CF T-shirt or a T-shirt in memory of a loved one.

Desha County Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause.
