Workers on Wednesday were pouring concrete for the pool at the site of the Pine Bluff Aquatics Center located near the Civic Center complex. At a recent meeting of the City Council’s Public Works Committee, members were told that excavation had been mostly completed and in the next few weeks, walls for the building and pool area will start to be erected, as well as work on the parking lot. The Aquatics Center is one of the projects that got its start during the so-called “Penny for Progress” sales tax campaign in 2011. The 2018 city budget also includes $2 million from the Go Forward Pine Bluff sales tax, which was approved by voters last year.
