The Generator, an innovation hub powered by Go Forward Pine Bluff, is planning a series of workshops this month to help residents who are interested in starting businesses. The Generator is the major initiative of the Economic Development Pillar in the Go Forward Pine Bluff Plan.
From 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, at the Southeast Arkansas College Training Room, Welcome Center, 1900 S. Hazel St., a workshop will explore the major sources of business financing, including bootstrapping, loans, grants, and equity, according to a GFPB news release.

From 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Business Incubator, 615 S. Main St., “Starting a Business in Arkansas” will be held. This basic seminar discusses essential start-up steps, legal business structures, regulations and licensing, key issues that affect your business success, and common pitfalls entrepreneurs face.

From 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, at the Southeast Arkansas College Training Room, Welcome Center, 1900 S. Hazel St., “Financial Statements: Focus on Cash Flow” will be held.
“This workshop will dig deep into what loan candidates will need to demonstrate re-payment capacity,” the news release said.
“Participants will learn what cash flow is and why lenders are interested in it, as well as what information is contained in financial statements and what key records to keep.”
