The fall 2018 session of the Shepherd’s Center of Pine Bluff will be held at Lakeside United Methodist Church, 15th Avenue and Olive Street, beginning Sept. 12.


Classes will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 31. The registration is a one time $10 fee.


“It is that time of year again,” President Bettye Johnson said of the fall Shepherd’s Center classes. “Time to add a new interest/hobby to your life. Meet new friends and enjoy fellowship with old friends. A great way to spend a morning while learning something new, or enhancing your talents and skills. Open to all that love life.”


On Sept. 12, the guest speaker for the opening class will be John Mitchell, an instructor, who will present Beginning Genealogy.


Other classes include:


Computer Course — will be taught by Phil McBee. (While most classes are held Wednesdays at Lakeside, this class will be held at the Arkansas River Education Servica Cooperative, 912 W. Sixth Ave., from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursdays.)


Art Workshop – Women from the local art guild instruct in watercolor, acrylic and others.


Line Dancing – Mona Rhoden, instructor - One of the most popular classes.


Knitting – Barbara Fry and others instructing.


Crochet – Barbara Lambert instructing.


Canasta – Join Nancy Paschal to learn and play this card game.


Photography – A favorite class taught by Mike Adam teaching portrait, landscaping, digital and other subjects.


“Bible class” — The Rev. Steve Wingo will teach a one-hour class from 9:30-10:30 a.m.


Bird Watching – Delos McCauley, instructor from the Audubon Society.


Games — Participants may also play Mahjong and board games.


“This and That” Classes


Different classes are offered each Wednesday. Some classes may require a fee for supplies.


Crafts — Extension Homemakers Clubs, nature center instructors and Area Agency on Aging instructors will showcase how to make crafts.
